How do you move forward
If your eyes are looking back?
I want to keep on moving
But I keep on losing track
Of where I’m going,
What my goal is,
What horizons I might find!

When you’re focused on behind?

I want to see the future,
All that’s promised me, at last…
And all the good things
I believed in
When my years were young and few.

From the old into the new?

Fix your eyes on what’s ahead.
I’ll be thankful for the past and
Not be captive there! Instead...
I’ll take a hopeful step of heaven
To adventures yet unknown
And maybe moving forward
Is a journey somewhere home
