I’m really tired. I’m not sure whether it’s a medical thing or just a life thing, but I feel like this end of the week has drained all the energy from me.
Could be that I had to go to London on Wednesday. It was a straightforward enough journey, just kind of exhausting, and you know London. It’s a young person’s place.
Sigh. Birthdays are coming up. I don’t really want mine this year, mostly because Sammy’s is two days later and happens to be what they call a ‘big’ birthday, whereas mine is bog-standard. I said I’d rather focus on celebrating hers. And to be honest, planning birthdays is probably my lowest skill, so it needs all the focus it can get.
Maybe I’m tired because I was awake at 4-something yesterday morning. That’ll do it, right? All that watching of rockets on the BBC website under the duvet?
Anyway, I’m trying to keep out of the birthday planning. It’s way too political for me, working out who, where, why and what. And it shouldn’t be! But for some reason, it is.
So, for my own actual birthday (a Tuesday) I’ve removed all the complexity, and I’ve decided to go to one of the London museums for the day, just like I used to do in my thirties. See? It’s for young people. Ha.
